Fabric Covering and Other Programs Offered at Denver Area Workshop
The EAA SportAir Workshops return to the Denver area on the weekend of September 11-12 with a full suite of two day workshops. Redstone College in Broomfield, Colorado will be hosting the event. One of the highlights is SportAir's intensive Fabric Covering course which teaches the techniques of covering or restoring your fabric aircraft. During this course students will work on two full sized wing sections using the PolyFiber covering process. Other courses offered during the program include Composite Construction, Electrical Systems and Avionics and Sheet Metal aircraft assembly. On Saturday evening "What's Involved in Kitbuilding" will be presented, a two hour, pizza dinner and a lecture, primer on how to get started in building your own aircraft.

"Redstone College which offers a full time Aviation Maintenance program, is a wonderful backdrop for the workshop" said Mark Forss, EAA's coordinator of the SportAir programs. Two Special Mini Courses in North Carolina This Weekend Weekend

Thinking about building an aircraft? Not sure how to take the first step? SportAir's "Discover Aircraft Building ”, being presented this weekend, August 28-29th is designed just for you. Hosted by EAA Chapter 1114 in Apex, North Carolina, the 2 day workshop teaches the fundamentals of aircraft construction including wood, composite, fabric and sheet metal. You’ll build individual projects, and learn the ins and outs of the various techniques. At the end of the course you'll leave with a great feeling of accomplishment and the confidence to take the next step, joining over 30,000 other individuals in building your own airplane.

Also being presented on Saturday Evening is SportAir's What's Involved in Kitbuilding. This is a great 2 hour introduction into all aspects of How to successfully build a kit aircraft from idea to first flights and includes a pizza dinner! If you can't devote the entire weekend, this is a great first step in understanding the process of building your own airplane.

Cost of the Discover Aircraft fundamentals course is $195. The What's Involved Saturday evening session is $25. If you sign up for the two day Discover course, the Saturday evening session is included at no extra charge, a savings of over 10%. The EAA SportAir workshops offers this weekend workshop, approved by the FAA, that will allow you to obtain a Repairman/Inspection certificate for your airplane certificated in the Experimental Light Sport Aircraft (ELSA) category. The certificate will allow you to perform the annual condition inspection on your airplane.
