The EAA SportAir Workshop Program has geared up for a number of courses coming to locations around the country. Check the Workshop Schedule section for complete details. RV Aircraft Builders Workshop September 6-7
The EAA SportAir Workshop program is returning to Riverside, California for a two-day Van's Aircraft assembly course in September. This popular aircraft builders course is being held at Flabob Airport, hosted by EAA Chapter One on Saturday and Sunday September 6th and 7th. If you are thinking about building a Van's RV aircraft, or have taken the steps to order a kit, this workshop will prepare you with the skills you need to successfully complete your project. The course will be taught by Dan Checkoway, a well-known and highly regarded RV Aircraft builder. The weekend workshop consists of "hands-on" practice, giving you experience in the techniques necessary to assemble the airplane. In addition, other topics will be discussed including FAR's pertaining to amateur-built aircraft, tools required, workshop requirements, engine and propeller selection, flight testing and more. The course is offered to EAA members at a special price of $319 and is limited to 16 students. Currently there is space available in the class. Denver Workshop Series September 6-7
EAA SportAir Workshops is returning to the Denver area, at Redstone College Broomfield Campus. This workshop event will include the following popular courses: Sheet Metal, Electrical Systems and Avionics, Fabric Covering, Test Flying Your Project, Repairman ELSA Inspection - Airplane, and What’s Involved in Kitbuilding. Currently there are still openings in these classes. Complete details on these offerings are listed in the Workshops section of our website.
FAA Repairman / Inspection Certificate for your ELSA Airplane Being Offered At Several Locations
There are several ELSA Inspection courses being offered this fall. Here is a list of upcoming sessions:

The EAA SportAir workshops offers this weekend workshop, approved by the FAA, that will allow you to obtain a Repairman/Inspection certificate for your airplane certificated in the Experimental Light Sport Aircraft (ELSA) category. North East Workshop Event September 27-28
The best way to learn how to build your own airplane is from the experts, and there’s no better source of experts than EAA’s SportAir Workshops. On September 27-28, EAA will present a full workshop schedule at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, New Hampshire, marking a return to the East Coast. “We’ve received numerous member requests to conduct workshops in this area of the country,” said Mark Forss, SportAir Workshops coordinator. “We’re just thrilled to be able to partner with Daniel Webster College to make that happen.” The college’s well-known aviation facilities are well suited to host a wide variety of workshop programs, which will include Composite Construction, Fabric Covering, Basic Sheet Metal, Electrical Systems, Test Flying, and for those just starting out, What’s Involved in Kit Building.
